Georgina has travelled extensively around the world and across Asia, from Cambodia to Singapore. She has ventured into the desert in Oman and lived in western Australia for a year, where she worked at a dolphin resort and was enthralled by a visit from a pod of dolphins while she was reading a book in the sea.

Asia is where her heart is, however, from awe-inspiring Yangon in Burma, glittering with golden stupas, and following in the Beatles' footsteps in Rishikesh to having her paddleboard hijacked by local children on the unspoilt Indonesian island of Sumba, meeting orangutans in Borneo and elephants in Thailand, and climbing the Great Wall of China.

Whether you'd like to go off-grid and find yourself in mystical realms, from the Ganges to the Himalayas or the 'roof of the world' - Tibet - Georgina will draw on her expertise and knowledge to make your dreams a reality.

My Top Tips

I'd recommend sleeping in the jungle in Borneo for a week. I've done it and staying in the wild is an experience that you'll never forget - and as a bonus I got to see orangutans.

Burma is still for the most part unexplored but I’d definitely recommend it for the humble people and the delicious food.

When travelling to Indonesia, choose an itinerary that takes you to as many islands as possible - Sumba, Java and Bali are all unique and each place is so different from the other.

Go on a gastronomical cruise around Burma

The Sanctuary Ananda is my favourite place to stay because the staff are amazing, and they have the best food I’ve ever tasted in Asia, which you can sample as you cruise along the Irawaddy and Chindwin rivers.

Experience the wild side of Indonesia

Indonesia is a marvellous place for wildlife encounters, from the forests of Bali, where you can come nose-to-nose with monkeys, to the Tanjung Puting National Park, which you can explore by houseboat.

Blissful Bali: retreat to paradise

An island synonymous with paradise, Bali is blessed with beautiful beaches, a year-round sunny climate and rice terraces that seem to extend to the heavens – I can't think of anything else you'd need for an idyllic getaway.

Make panda cakes in China

One of my favourite travel memories is visiting the Dujiangyan Panda Base in the Sichuan province in China. I got to learn how to make panda cakes made from bamboo and vegetables to feed these cute bears.
