Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Endemic will take you through the major islands of the Galapagos archipelago. One of the world’s most stunning natural environments and a crucial cornerstone in our modern understanding of evolution, the Galapagos has fascinated naturalists for centuries, from Darwin to Attenborough.

Rooms onboard the Endemic

The Endemic is a catamaran, and its multiple hulls mean more cabin space - adding to the luxurious feel. The rooms have light wood floors, furniture and ceiling beams, and textiles in a blue-and-white maritime colour scheme. The private bathrooms come with walk-in showers, and the suites take the comfort up to another level still, with large sofas and seating areas.

With floor-to-ceiling windows opening out onto panoramic balconies, there’s no need to miss any of the action going on outside, and you can take in the rugged volcanic landscapes and unique wildlife of the Galapagos from the privacy of your own suite.

Food & drink

Dining on the Endemic is comparable to a high-end hotel restaurant, with a wide-ranging menu of delicious international cuisine served up by the onboard chef. In addition to the elegant indoor dining rooms, there are al fresco dining areas on deck, and the Sky Deck has a barbecue area where delicious grilled dinners are served under the stars.

Breakfast is a tempting spread of fresh fruit, pastries, cold cuts and cooked options, while lunch is a buffet of fresh salads, grilled meats and pastas. Dinner is slightly more formal, with an ever-changing a la carte selection accompanied by an extensive menu of wine and cocktails.

Facilities

There’s no end of places to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Galapagos. In addition to the bar, lounge and dining room, there’s an upper deck with relaxation and wildlife viewing areas, while the stunning sky deck has sunloungers and a Jacuzzi, where you can relax in the open air and watch the island landscapes go by.

Activities onboard the Endemic

Needless to say, the beautiful landscapes and unique wildlife of the Galapagos Islands are the main attractions here. This is one of the most ecologically unique places on Earth: half of the land species, and one fifth of the marine species, exist nowhere else on the planet, and the lack of natural predators means that the animals have no fear, guaranteeing unique and rather special wildlife encounters.

Itineraries vary, but cruises will take in spots like Genovesa, home to fur seals and red-footed boobies, Darwin Bay, where you can spot stunning red-breasted frigate birds, Isabela, where land iguanas and Sally Lightfoot crabs jostle for space on the rocks, and San Cristobal, where Charles Darwin first went ashore in 1835. Other highlights include the Sierra Negra volcano on Isabela, while on Santa Cruz, you may sea turtles laying their eggs at certain times of year, and visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to meet the islands’ most iconic inhabitant: the Galapagos giant tortoise.

Glass-bottomed kayaks, wetsuits, paddle boards and snorkelling equipment are on hand to help you explore the spectacular seas and coastlines up close.
