Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Hotel del Parque is located in Guayaquil’s exclusive riverside neighbourhood of San Borondon. Despite its prime city location, the hotel is surrounded by nature. It sits in the beautiful Parque Historico, a rich haven for wildlife, while the Parque Seminario and the wetlands of Isla Santay sit nearby.

Rooms at Hotel del Parque

The rooms are all uniquely decorated, but all share an elegant, traditional style and a tasteful colour scheme of muted greys and yellows. They are furnished entirely with Ecuadorian pieces of art and furniture, and feature huge, regal bathrooms carved from marble. The Park Suite has a huge freestanding bath, from which you can gaze over the tropical gardens outside while you take a dip.

Food & Drink

Hotel del Parque’s restaurant serves up sophisticated, gourmet Ecuadorian dishes in a historic waterfront building which dates back to the 19th century. Making the most of the restaurant’s location, dishes are based on the freshest seafood from the Pacific Ocean, as well as locally-grown avocado, cacao and coconut, among many others.

Facilities

The magnificent reading and games room is a incredible space of marble floors and stone pillars. Here, you can lounge on an antique ottoman while browsing the web on one of the room’s laptops, or relaxing in front of the TV. Complimentary tea, coffee and juice are provided.

Within the hotel is a 19th-century chapel, which combines Gothic, Renaissance and Mediterranean architectural features. Within the chapel’s bell tower is a luxurious spa, where you can enjoy a range of treatments while taking in panoramic views of the city.

Activities at Hotel del Parque

The beautiful botanical gardens of the Parque Historico surround the hotel and are ripe for exploration. A series of wooden walkways connects the hotel to a wildlife sanctuary, where iguanas hang from the trees and crocodiles lurk in the mangroves; spider monkeys and giant harpy eagles can also be spotted here. A further section of the park is dedicated to preserving Guayaquil’s traditional culture, and folk dances and theatrical performances are staged regularly.
