2 nightsSantiago

Your adventure begins in Chile’s capital and largest city, Santiago. On arrival you’ll be taken to your home for the next two nights, Le Reve - a luxurious boutique hotel housed in a grand colonial mansion. Your first couple of days are all about relaxing and enjoying the cultural highlights of Santiago at your leisure. Be sure to check out the pre-colonial art collections of the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolumbino, take the cable car up Cerro San Cristobal for amazing city views, and visit La Chascona, a former home of poet Pablo Neruda.

3 nightsCastro

The next stop on your journey sees you departing the Chilean mainland for the beautiful island of Chiloe. Rich in traditional culture, with unique folklore and culinary traditions, the island is also home to some devastatingly beautiful natural landscapes. Your hotel, Tierra Chiloe, is an eye-catching luxury retreat with a position perfect for exploring the island’s natural diversity - the Pacific Ocean, the Pullao Wetlands, and the lush countryside inland are all within sight here.

You’ll spend the next few days exploring them, with hiking, mountain biking and horse riding trips on dry land, and boat trips around the rugged coastline and nearby islands of Quehui and Chelin.

2 nightsPuerto Varas

This leg sees you heading back to the mainland and beginning your exploration of Chile’s Lake District, as you arrive in the attractive city of Puerto Varas. You’ll spend the next two nights at AWA Hotel, another stylish design hotel perfectly placed for exploring the natural landscapes nearby. Hike through thick forests to the Calbuco and Orsono volcanoes, kayak on Lake Llanguihue, and visit indigenous people in nearby villages. Back in Puerto Varas, the streets are lined with pretty German buildings dating from the 19th century.

3 nightsHuilo Huilo

You venture further into the wilderness now, as you make for the Patagonian rainforest and Nawelpi Lodge, a stunning luxury eco-lodge on the banks of the Fuy River. Once again, outdoor adventures are the order of the day here: horse riding and cycling are popular ways to experience the jungle up close, while the stunning Salto de la Leona waterfall marks the endpoint of a rewarding hike. There’s even skiing equipment on offer to help you explore the mountains, if you’re feeling really adventurous.

At the end of a day’s exertions, you can enjoy a massage or a session in a steam room, sauna or Jacuzzi - just thing to get you recharged and ready to do it all again tomorrow.

3 nightsPucon

Your exploration of the Chilean Lakes continues with three nights in the countryside outside Pucon at the lovely & Beyond Vira Vira. Guided excursions will see you hiking among the monkey puzzle trees of Villarrica National Park, mountain biking down the sides of volcanoes, and learning the horsemanship skills of a Chilean huaso cowboy. On the water, boat trips and kayaking will take you down the Liucura River. It’s not all about thrill-seeking, though, and yoga, art classes and cookery lessons are among the more relaxing activities on offer.

1 nightSantiago

The final stop on your journey sees you heading back to Santiago for the last night of your vacation. This time you’ll be staying at Noi Vitacura, a sleek luxury hotel in the fashionable Vitacura district. Tonight is all about relaxing, reflecting on your trip, and, if you so choose, ticking off one or two of the highlights of Santiago you may have missed the first time around. A short walk away you’ll find the Parque Bicentenario, a modern city park where boardwalks criss-cross a peaceful lagoon home to fish and bird life - a lovely place to spend your final evening in Santiago, before you fly home the next morning.
