Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Búzios is situated on a peninsula three hours north of Rio de Janeiro.

Rooms at Insolito Boutique Hotel & Spa

Originally a private villa, this hotel provides a collection of suites in a beautiful Mediterranean-inspired building which overlooks the sea and is encompassed by lush green tropical gardens. The characterful, light-filled suites provide interiors with either stone or wooden floors accompanied by rich green and blue textiles and crisp white linens on comfortable plush beds. The owner’s passion for Brazilian art is evident in each individually-styled room and the unique décor which features original sculptures, drawings and painted tiles.

Enjoy blissful views of the surrounding gardens or stunning azure waters through the wall-length windows which, in some cases, open up onto private balconies or furnished decking areas. Opt for the master suite and indulge in extra-spacious outdoor verandas complete with plunge pools and gorgeous ocean vistas.

Food & Drink

Start the day with bread straight from the oven, fresh fruit juices and cold cuts for breakfast at the enchanting al fresco hotel restaurant and return later for a range of traditional French-Brazilian dishes with a contemporary twist. Sample some of the Bahian shrimp moqueca and delight in the freshly-caught seafood options such as grilled octopus or lobster accompanied by some fine wine before stopping over at the thatched-roofed bar and lounge for a tasty Caipirinha as the sun goes down.

Guests can also take the opportunity to experience seaside picnics on the private beach nearby.

Facilities

The magic of the scenery is met in equal measure by the spa facilities which accommodate guests with glass encased treatment rooms overlooking the gorgeous ocean view. Enjoy a soothing massage or take a swim in the outdoor pool and gaze over the horizon from the loungers alongside.

Activities at Insolito Boutique Hotel & Spa

Explore the fabulous beaches of the Búzios peninsula – there are over twenty coves to explore – and dine on fine international cuisine at the chic restaurants of the Rua das Pedras; this cobblestoned oceanfront promenade is ‘the place to be' once night falls. Snorkel through crystal clear waters to catch a glimpse of the area’s vibrant marine life, or head to the southern coastline where the bigger waves are popular with a surf crowd, especially at Geribá.
