Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort is tucked away in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia.

Rooms at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort

The wood cabins are dictated by nature. The intertidal cabins were built over the movement of the tide, and have sweeping views over the bay, while the forest cabins sit in the trees by the stream, with a waterfall nearby to soothe you to sleep. Delights you’ll find in your cabin include deluxe Belgian linen bedding, local handcrafted bath products, wine from British Columbia and delicious homemade cookies and snacks.

Food & drink

At breakfast enjoy freshly-baked pastries made in the resort’s own bakery, speciality coffees and teas and a wholesome hot meal to set you up for the day. In the evening, canapés are served on the floating fire dock or in the lodge, followed by a multi-course meal inspired by the natural surroundings, such as locally-caught seafood, foraged plants and desserts such as wildflower pavlova. Or dine at the floating restaurant in the Great Bear Rainforest!

Facilities

Relax in the cedar hot tubs or the floating wood-fired sauna, or brave the cold in the waterfall plunge pool. Daily classes are offered in the yoga studio and you can let off steam in the fitness studio or unwind in the world-class spa with a massage next to the cascading waterfall.

There are guitars and other instruments for budding musicians to play, plus a bar for a drink or two and a games room to chill out in after a day's exploring.

Activities at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort

Choose from a range of guided wilderness adventures such as a leisurely boating excursion to explore the waterfalls and view marine wildlife, or go kayaking, paddle boarding or tubing. You can also try heli-fishing, which gives access to remote, glacier-fed rivers, or book your own helicopter to explore the natural wonders of the area, such as alpine meadows, white sand beaches, remote islands and hot springs.

Enjoy a hike along the Big Nimmo Trail, which skirts the shoreline and weaves in and out of the forest and along the beach, and venture into the heart of the stunning Great Bear Rainforest, where you may spot a bear or two.
