HIGHLIGHTS OF BERMUDA
Pink sand beaches. Finely-ground coral is what creates Bermuda's distinctive pink sand beaches, and what makes it such a romantic honeymoon destination.
Crystal Caves. It's not just the beaches that are beautiful: take a trip underground at the Crystal Caves, said to be millions of years old, to see beautiful azure waters and rock-formed chandeliers.
History, culture and more. Head to the Royal Naval Dockyard complex in Sandys to see the 19th-century fort, the National Museum and the aquarium, sample the famous rum cakes, watch artisans at work and buy a pair of Bermuda shorts. If you're there on a Monday in the summer, enjoy Destination Dockyard, a lively street party. Alternatively join Harbour Nights every Wednesday night at Front Street, Hamilton, for live entertainment, local arts and crafts and children's activities - a great spot to soak up the Bermudan way of life.
Diving. There are several reefs off the coast, as well as shipwrecks, that are spectacular diving spots. Get up close to humpback whales, Bermuda chubs and other creatures of the sea.
Dining at The Reefs Resort. This resort's acclaimed restaurants include Coconuts, where you can enjoy a chilled-out dinner right on the famous pink sands.
Hiking and biking. Set out on foot or two wheels along the historic Railway Trail, a scenic trail which spans the whole island.
Exceptional golf courses. Bermuda offers several championship golf courses with magnificent views out to sea.
Sailing. Bermuda's calm and clear waters and balmy weather make it a perfect sailing spot, and the island holds prestigious sailing events.
Exploring by scooter. You can't rent cars on Bermuda, so if you're travelling without kids then we recommend hiring a scooter. Alternatively, the buses are super efficient and great for mixing with the locals.
Cool combinations. Just a couple of hours' flight from the United States, Bermuda combines very well with a trip to New York, so you can hit the beach and Fifth Avenue all in the space of one fabulous vacation!
