Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

It’s no exaggeration to describe the atmosphere at Royal Mansour as palatial, with its beautiful marble floors, huge pillars and high ceilings. The service is impeccable, and the whole place is fit for the King of Morocco – which is just as well, since he commissioned it.

Rooms at Royal Mansour

Each of the riads opens onto a central courtyard leading off into a living room, a bar, a hall and an outdoor patio; the larger riads also have dining rooms. On the roof, there’s a private terrace with a fireplace and a Moroccan tent, overlooking Marrakech. The riads are built in traditional Moroccan style, with beautiful carved woodwork, wall arches and luxuriant fabrics. The lovely bathrooms are hewn from white marble.

Food & Drink

At a hotel of such grand ambition as the Royal Mansour, it’s no surprise to learn that there is a wealth of dining options to choose from. La Grande Table Marocaine serves exquisite, gourmet Moroccan cuisine which is among the finest of its kind in the country; La Grand Table Francaise, as you might expect, is a similarly refined French equivalent. La Table offers Mediterranean and Moroccan dishes in a more relaxed environment, while Le Jardin has an al fresco menu inspired by the 14th-century traveller Ibn Battuta, who supposedly introduced slow cooking to Morocco.

Facilities

The Royal Mansour Marrakech Spa is a beautiful space, with a huge atrium ornately carved from white wrought iron which gives way into a labyrinthine collection of treatment rooms. Among the services on offer are massages, facials and beauty treatments. Each of the riads have plunge pools, with the larger ones having their own swimming pools, so you can go for a dip in complete privacy.

Activities at Royal Mansour

Royal Mansour sits in the famous medina, the old fortified city and the atmospheric heart of Marrakech. Its winding alleyways and bustling bazaars are wonderfully evocative and are a great place to get lost in for a few hours, while the Jemaa el Fna, the nearby iconic city square, offers brilliant people-watching among the snake charmers, musicians and medicine men. The hotel offers private tours of Marrakech, including by horse and carriage, as well as excursions away from the city and into the desert.
