Each Luxury Suite Tent is spacious, individually decorated and has a private veranda area. The décor is stunning and includes some traditional nomadic furniture, taking inspiration from the British Raj, from a Kipling stool to a Jorhat chair. We recommend the Presidential Suite Tents which have an extra wing that can be used as another bedroom or turned into a private lounge area.

Food & Drink

The resident chef provides guests with sumptuous dishes from his personal family recipes, and combines these with additional flavours to create a unique fusion of cuisine you will only be able to find at the The Ultimate Travelling Camps. In terms of where you would like to dine, the camp offers four settings – the restaurant, fish pond deck, organic vegetable garden, and barbeque area, where you can also enjoy live cultural performances.

Facilities

Outdoor seating allows you to take in the three water bodies near the camp, while a library has a collection of books covering a range of local topics from spirituality to history of the surrounding land. Activities at The Ultimate Travelling Camp - Chamba Camp, Thiksey

Despite the somewhat isolated location, the variety of experiences available help you to immerse yourself in the fascinating culture of Ladakh. Adventurous types will enjoy a white water rafting trip, passing some of the most important sights and breathtaking views along the river. Watch a fast and furious game of polo, considered the sport of royals, set in the barren terrain and with intervals of traditional Ladakhi music. Finally, walk back in time as you take a tour of the Thiksey and Alchi Monasteries and immerse yourself in the Buddhist way of life by taking part in the Morning Prayer Ceremony.
