Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Marari Beach Resort sits on Marari Beach in Kerala.

Rooms at Marari Beach Resort

The interiors take inspiration from their surroundings, with traditional palm-thatched roofs and tiled floors. The light and airy garden and pool villas bring the outside in, with fresh flowers from the gardens and terraces to relax on, and the pool villas come with their own private pools. There are no TVs in the rooms, creating a serene environment. Your bathroom is in a secluded courtyard, open to the sky.

Food & drink

The restaurant offers delicious fresh seafood and tempting local favourites, such as fragrant coconut curries, made with ingredients from the resort’s own organic farm and spices from the mountains, with dishes served from traditional clay bowls. Learn how to create Keralan cuisine yourself, from picking the ingredients to cooking up the irresistible dishes in the kitchen.

Sip on fresh coconut juice or a tropical cocktail at the outdoor bar, and enjoy afternoon tea, Marari style - the tea is poured from a metre high, adding fresh sea air to the fragrant blend of tea leaves, ginger and spices.

Facilities

As well as the pristine and beautiful beach on the doorstep, you can cool off in the pool, or catch the rays on the sundeck. We recommend indulging in a Kerala massage or taking a yoga class with the master yoga teacher, which we guarantee will leave you relaxed and revitalised - if you’re not relaxed enough already!

Activities at Marari Beach Resort

Relax in a hammock under the shade of a coconut palm with a book from the library. For something more active, play tennis or volleyball, or explore Marari beach and the local village of Mararikulam by bike. In the village, you can learn about coir making, where products from handbags to sandals are weaved from coconut fibres: pick up a unique souvenir in the gift shop.

Marari is a nature lover’s paradise - enjoy a morning walk with an expert naturalist, and find out more about the area’s unique ecosystem and wide variety of wildlife, birds and plants. Just to give a taster, there are 100 species of butterflies and ten kinds of frogs here. You can also watch the day's catch being brought in at the harbour. Further afield, visit temples or meander around the waterways on a traditional canoe.
