Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The JW Marriott Mauritius Resort sits in resplendent surroundings on the fine white sands of Le Morne Beach, surrounded by an aquamarine lagoon and lush tropical jungle - you’ll feel far, far away from anywhere else at this island paradise.

Rooms at JW Marriott Mauritius Resort

The stylish rooms and suites have a beautiful design which is inspired by traditional Balinese villas. There’s rich dark teak wood and bamboo everywhere you look, while the plush four-poster beds and cushions have a white and blue colour scheme which reflects the ocean, beach and sky outside your window. Large French doors open onto a private deck with sun loungers, where you can sit and gaze out over the Indian Ocean. For even more luxury, there are gorgeous one to three-bedroom villas.

Food & Drink

Your taste buds are in for a treat here, with a wide range of cuisine on offer across five restaurants. Delicious Mauritian, French and Mediterranean dishes are on the menu at the stately Le Manoir, while ocean-fresh Japanese-style seafood is served at Atsuko, and fresh oysters and juicy grilled prawns at the Boathouse Grill. If you just can’t decide on one type of cuisine, then Floating Market is the place to go, with a wide sweep of pan-Asian dishes on offer in a beautiful Chinese pavilion surrounded by water.

For a nightcap, head to the elegant 1904 Bar for vintage champagne and smooth rum cocktails, accompanied by the equally silky sounds of jazz.

Facilities

After a day’s adventures exploring the jungle or kite-surfing on the waves - or, indeed, a tough day with your feet up on the beach - return to relax beside the pool or in the gorgeous spa, which is housed in a beautiful colonial-style building. It has a Jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna, as well as several private treatment rooms where you can indulge in body wraps and massages as well as facials and manicures.

Activities at JW Marriott Mauritius Resort

The hotel's water sports centre has got you covered no matter how you want to explore the waves, with snorkelling, kayaking, water skiing and windsurfing just a few of the options available. To check off one of the ultimate bucket list experiences, hop on one of the hotel's boats and swim with playful wild dolphins in the Indian Ocean. Take to the water in the ultimate style on a sunset catamaran cruise, touring Tamarin Bay with champagne on ice, or on a glass-bottomed boat trip - experience the technicolour underwater world without getting your hair wet.

View the island's 'underwater waterfall' off the coast on a scenic seaplane ride - this natural phenomenon can only be seen from the air.

On dry land, hike through the jungles and caves inland, tour the Chamarel rum factory, and learn about the island’s colonial history at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Aapravasi Ghat, where the first Indian labourers came to the island.

In the evening, catch a movie in the private cinema.
