Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi sits on a postcard-perfect island in the Shaviyani Atoll, whose pristine beaches and tropical landscapes cover 16 hectares.

Rooms at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi

The contemporary all-villa resort is comprised of 120 enormous accommodations, all with private pools and ultra-luxe interiors inspired by local traditions - think cool marble floors, light hardwood furniture, crocheted rugs and rope chandeliers. All categories benefit from a dedicated butler, who will tend to your every need and ensure a perfect stay in paradise.

Beach Sunrise and Sunset villas are situated on dazzling white sands and feature both indoor and outdoor bathrooms with bathtub and shower plus a plunge pool and sala relaxation area. Deluxe villas add a separate living room area and offer larger plunge pools, while the Water villas are perched above the irresistibly blue lagoon and provide direct ocean access. Larger two-bedroom villas are also available, both on the beach and over the water.

For a true castaway experience, opt for the safari-style Tented Jungle villas in the island's verdant interior. These spacious units contain a master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom, plus a separate children's bedroom and a tropical outdoor area.

Food & Drink

Raha Market is the place to head for traditional Maldivian dishes, Asian cuisine, buffets and live cooking stations: this is also where a hearty breakfast is served each morning. A sumptuous menu of fresh seafood is served alongside fine wines and ocean breezes at Azure, the elegant fine-dining restaurant, while Kata, the hotel's signature restaurant and bar, offers exquisite Japanese cuisine, innovative cocktails and handpicked sakes, which you can enjoy on the rooftop lounge while taking in the sea views.

Onu Onu, the resort's Balinese-style bamboo bar, is the social heart of the hotel and there is no place better for sipping cocktails as the sun sinks into the ocean.

Facilities

Work up a sweat at the fitness centre with Thai boxing, yoga and Pilates or on the state-of-the-art tennis and football courts, and enjoy a swim in the 200-metre-long pool, which spans the width of the island. For a change of pace, synchronise with nature's equilibrium and indulge in an elements-inspired massage at the Willow Stream spa.

Children of all ages are kept well entertained by the play garden, kids club and dedicated 'Teen Town' plus a wealth of activities.

Activities at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi

Divers and snorkelling enthusiasts will love discovering the kaleidoscope of colours in the 9km house reef that surrounds the island, and you shouldn't miss the chance to explore the Coralarium, an underwater art museum featuring a collection of life-size human figures and abstract shapes designed by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor with the aim of creating an artificial reef that unites art, nature and humanity. Why not join the resident marine biologist for exciting discoveries in this lesser-explored atoll, including a manta ray cleaning station, or step aboard the resort's private yacht for a sunset dolphin cruise?

Back on dry land, explore the island on two wheels, or take an art photography class.
