Glengorm Castle

Location: Scottish Castles & Highlands Hotels | UK

On the furthermost drop of the outermost wave of the Inner Hebrides, Glengorm Castle is completely secluded on one of Scotland’s most beautiful islands. A cliffhanging headland B&B, perched as far north as north gets on the island, the castle offers a warm welcome with plush beds and fabulous views over the Atlantic- the perfect place to discover the beautiful beaches and heritage-rich towns of the Isle of Mull.
Perfect forCouples and families expecting a castle hotel to include a long scenic driveway, turreted rooms, and a large estate waiting to be explored.
In the knowMake sure you are back from your travels in the late afternoon, as though Glengorm already stands out with its dramatic scenery, the views across the Atlantic become sensational at sunset.

Hotel Overview

Where

Five miles north of Tobermory, a 13-minute drive from the main town.

Rooms at Glengorm Castle

Though very grandiose on the outside, the five large ensuite rooms with private bathrooms are very homely, each brightly styled with an eclectic mix of furniture and pretty wallpapers. The Tower rooms are unique serviced apartments situated within the main castle’s turrets, perfect for a group or family of four.

Food and facilities

With morning meals cooked to order, breakfast is fit for a king, served at a long table that dates back to the 16th century. For lunch try out the estate’s cafe, which offers fresh local produce at lunchtime, and for dinner, drive down the hill to the cheerfully coloured Tobermory, for the amazing seafood on offer at Cafe Fish. With large open fires and wood panelling, sink into the snug couches in the single malt library after dinner and sample the 14 Scottish whiskys on display for a spirited and merry stay.

Activities at Glengorm Castle

Make sure to pack your wellingtons as you trek through the estate, to watch the golden and white tailed sea eagles catch prey in the rolling hills, walk along the white pristine beaches, and go island hopping to puffin-rich Staffa and the Isle of Iona, the birthplace of Scottish Christianity.
