Seville

Widely considered one of southern Spain’s most captivating and romantic cities, Seville is the perfect place for soaking up authentic Spanish culture. The best way to explore is on foot and there are plenty of private walking tours to choose from.

The Santa Cruz Quarter, formally the Jewish Quarter, is a fantastic starting point, with its narrow labyrinthine streets dotted with churches and convents. Head to the UNESCO-listed royal Alcazar palace complex, originally built as a Moorish fort and today displaying Renaissance and Baroque influences. After marvelling at the impressive architecture, take a shady stroll through the Jardines de Murillo (the Park of Murillo). The semi-circular Plaza de España showcases tiled alcoves, each one representing the different provinces of Spain. Enjoy a gentle stroll beside the Guadalquivir River or embark on a leisurely cruise, where you will spot the Tower of Golf landmark.

Seville also boasts an exciting culinary scene including several Michelin-starred restaurants, famous tapas bars and tempting street stalls serving delicious paella, churros and freshly squeezed orange juice. As the sun sets, head to the bars, take in a flamenco show or grab your dancing shoes and join a flamenco lesson to learn the basic steps. To experience the city at its most vibrant, consider visiting during Semana Santa or the April Fair, but be sure to book in advance.
