Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Hotel Orfila is tucked away on the side avenue of Orfila Street, combining a fantastic location in the heart of Madrid with plenty of peace and quiet when it comes to your immediate surroundings.

Rooms at Hotel Orfila

Hotel Orfila’s rooms and suites are a study in understated luxury. They’re unashamedly old-fashioned – all the furniture, like the beautiful Venetian chairs, comes from the 19th century, representing countries across Europe. Furniture is plush and comfortable, and delicate oil paintings and monochrome photography on the walls evoke a time gone by. Superior Rooms overlook the hotel’s leafy gardens, while Junior and Deluxe Suites overlook the quiet Orfila Street from either a balcony or a bow window.

Despite their traditional style, all rooms feature up-to-date technologies such as smart TVs, whirlpool bathtubs and speedy Wi-Fi.

Food & Drink

Executive chef Mario Sandoval has no fewer than two Michelin stars to his name, so you know you’re in for a culinary treat here. The menu at the restaurant, El Jardin de Orfila, changes with the seasons, but always consists of beautifully presented takes on traditional European cuisine. Sample dishes include crustacean ravioli, confit suckling pig and duck magret, and the ‘gastronomic menu’ features such indulgences as sturgeon pickled in saffron.

Facilities

Guests can enjoy access to a pool, gym and spa at a nearby hotel.

Activities at Hotel Orfila

The hotel’s location makes it perfect for exploring central Madrid, with many cultural and historical attractions on your doorstep. These include the Museo del Prado, which is home to one of Europe’s most impressive art collections. Also nearby are the Thyssen and Reina Sofia museums – collectively, these three are known as the Golden Triangle of Madrid’s art institutions.

Other highlights not to be missed in Madrid include the beautiful Plaza Mayor, the city’s peaceful main square, and the buzzing nightlife of Malasana and Chueca.
