Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Located on a hillside in a prestigious area of the city, the Olissippo Lapa Palace offers a tranquil escape surrounded by mansions and palaces.

Rooms at Olissippo Lapa Palace

The luxurious furnishings come from the north of Portugal with Art Deco, colonial, Algarvian and neoclassic flourishes. Of the three distinct sections, the Palace Wing offers the most traditionally Portuguese interiors, while the Garden Wing and Villas have a more contemporary feel. The Tower Room is a lavishly luxurious suite, with two private balconies (one of which is the turret of the original palace) and arguably the best view in Lisbon.

Food & Drink

Indulge in the highest quality Mediterranean cuisine at Lapa restaurant. Sliding glass doors open onto the sun-soaked terrace and fill the spacious dining room with light. At night, the twinkling lights of the castle on the opposite hill and the silent boats on the river below create a magical atmosphere. During the summer months, the poolside Pavillon restaurant offers light meals and snacks, such as sandwiches, salads and seafood, accompanied by a selection of cocktails, fresh fruit juices and homemade iced teas.

Especially popular because of its intimate terrace overlooking the Tagus River, the Rio Tejo Bar offers light meals and casual drinks. The lovely afternoon tea service features a selection of more than 40 blends, while in the evenings, live piano music fills the air.

Facilities

Select from an enticing array of skincare and body services featuring Elemis products, or relax as one of the trained massage therapists caters to your specific needs with a variety of techniques, including Esalen, Shiatsu, reflexology and hot stone therapy; essential oils, aromatic baths, chromotherapy and water jets may also be employed to help maximise results. Additional facilities include a heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool, cardio gym, sauna and Turkish bath.

Activities at Olissippo Lapa Palace

Take a walk around the neighbourhood to admire the architecture of the palaces or head that little bit further to the historic area of Belém at the mouth of the River Tagus. Belém is home to two famous landmarks, Jeronimos Monastery and Belém Tower, plus the beloved Portuguese egg custard tart pasteis de Belém - don’t leave Lisbon without trying one!
