Sun, Sea & Old Town Charms

Santorini dazzles in white and blue. With a sea of houses - most of which have been converted from merchant caves - and blue-domed churches stacked onto a half-moon cliff edge, it is one of Europe’s most romantic destinations. You’ll be treated to the most beautiful sunsets and soak up the warm Mediterranean climate that’ll no doubt have you channelling your inner dancing queen.

Imerovigli (a town known as ‘the balcony of the Aegean’) will leave you enthralled at sunset while Oia on the northern tip of Santorini has cave houses and a charming fishing port called Ammoudi, where you can catch a boat to the unspoilt Thirassia islet.

The Canaves Oia, where you will stay, has unique rooms that have been built within existing 17^th-century houses that were carved into the cliffs.

Catching a ferry from Santorini, you will reach the largest of the Cyclades islands. Naxos has mountaintop villages, a medley of Greek, Byzantine and Venetian influences, cobbled alleyways reminiscent of Mamma Mia’s Kalokairi, ancient ruins and picturesque beaches.

Its most iconic sites include the 1004m Mt Zeus, which attracts many hikers and the ruins of the Portara temple which overlook the azure Aegean sea. While you’re there you can visit the ruins of the 13^th-century castle, Kastro.

Lay all your love on Mykonos! The Cyclades’ party island has a lively atmosphere, with internationally-acclaimed DJs rocking the scene. You’ll be smiling, having fun and feeling like number one. With its signature 16^th-century windmills, romantic café-strewn Little Venice and prestigious beach clubs like Scorpios, it’s not hard to see what attracts many visitors to this charming island.

Sail to Delos Island - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which legend says was the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis – or take a stroll around the picturesque old port. You’ll be staying at the hilltop Myconian Naia, a luxurious hotel in Mykonos Town which overlooks the sea and has an inviting infinity pool and thalasso spa.

Catch a flight from Mykonos to Athens, where you will fly to Dubronvik. With its limestone streets which gleam bright white in the sunlight, Dubrovnik has endless appeal. Fast becoming one of Europe’s hottest destinations, Dubrovnik is steeped in mystery and history. Take a stroll in the Old Town which appears to have been frozen in time for centuries and then head up in the cable car to see it in all of its red-roofed glory from above.

For an adrenaline fix, go on a buggy safari tour, taking in mountains, old fortresses and panoramic views of Dubrovnik, or take to the water on board a sail boat or kayak (with the latter you can paddle along the coastline of the city and discover beach caves and the neighbouring island of Lokrum). Stay at the cliff-side retreat Villa Dubrovnik, a Leading Hotel of the World which offers unparalleled views of the Old Town.

Today you head to Korcula by private car transfer and ferry. This gem of an island has plenty to offer when it comes to sun, sea, good food and history. The charming Old Town has medieval city walls, fringed with palm trees, and a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. Its beachfront promenade comes alive at night-time and is lined with restaurants where you can enjoy a candle-lit seafood dinner al fresco under the romantic glow of the sunset.

Korcula’s best kept secret is Pupnat Beach, which is arguably the most stunning location on the island; a pebbly cove with crystal-clear waters, shrouded by lush green cliffs. You’ll be staying at the majestic Lesic Dimitri Palace, a hotel inspired by the travels of Marco Polo, with white-washed, apartment-style accommodation by the waterfront within the Old Town. It has some truly show-stopping suites, including the 'Venice' apartment with an intricate wooden terrace inspired by a bird cage and the 'India' one which has a hot tub in the bedroom. 

Catching a ferry from Korcula, head to Hvar for the last part of your trip. One of Croatia’s most luxurious spots, it is also its sunniest, and this buzzing island has a glamorous yacht scene and iconic beach bars. History buffs will love a guided tour of the city, which includes a visit to the medieval Spanjola fortress where you can get a bird’s eye view of the entire island. Head to the Hula Hula beach bar at twilight to catch the most awe-inspiring sunsets over cocktails.

The boutique Adriana hotel is right by the harbour and offers a beautiful view of boats bobbing on the surface of the water.
