Hotel Overview

Where

The picturesque village of Mane in the heart of the Provence countryside.

Rooms at Le Couvent des Minimes

The rooms and suites at Le Couvent des Minimes embody a spirit of simple luxury, combining contemporary French elegance with the unique atmosphere of this centuries-old monastery. The walls are painted in soft pastel colours, light streams in through the wide windows, the furniture is made from solid oak and carefully selected decorations add tasteful, unique touches to the rooms. For an especially memorable and romantic stay, La Cassine wedding suite, located in the old church steeple, is like something out of a fairy-tale.

Food and facilities

Le Cloître Restaurant strikes that perfect and all-too-rare balance between refined cuisine and a warm, convivial atmosphere. Chef Jérôme Roy applies his passion and expression to deliver a gastronomic experience which is memorable without being pretentious, based on fresh, local Provencal ingredients and simple, traditional recipes. After dinner, head to Le Caveau des Minimes, where you can taste sumptuous local wines in a relaxed, fun atmosphere – La Cornue wine cellar is also home to delicious local cheeses, another important element of Provencal cuisine.

Activities at Le Couvent des Minimes

Mane is a beautifully preserved medieval town, and is well worth exploring during your stay. Among its remarkable buildings are the Salagon Priory museum, the oldest parts of which date from the 12th century, and the Château de Sauvan, an 18th century French manor with striking, lovingly restored landscaped gardens. Mane’s church is beautiful and well worth a visit: dating from the 16th century, its features include a stunning Florentine portal and a high altar hewn from multi-coloured marble. The ancient Pont sur la Laye – a still-standing Roman bridge dating from the 1st-2nd centuries AD – also lies nearby.
