Hotel Overview

Where

On the edge of the Mary River Wetlands, close to the Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory.

Rooms at Bamurru Plains

The camp features nine Safari Suites built amongst the pandanus vegetation on the edge of the wetlands, and are designed so that guests feel at one with nature. Each of the suites has bi-fold doors which open from the bedroom onto the screened balcony with views towards the floodplains.

Food and Facilities

Take your morning coffee at the Kingfisher cafe, a quiet spot set in the middle of the forest. In the evening, the camp’s resident chef treats guests to a range of Australian influenced dishes, all created using local produce. There are very few modern technologies at the camp, to encourage visitors to focus on the nature that surrounds them, so afternoons can be spent at the swimming pool or on a 4WD tour. Sunset is best experienced at the lodge, on the deck whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly.

Activities at Bamurru Plains

You can choose to take a scenic flight by helicopter, stationed at the camp, over the spectacular floodplains and coastline of Northern Australia. Otherwise you can take a trip by airboat to see the floodplains of the Mary River region, packed full of diverse wildlife, including agile wallabies, dingos, wild pigs, crocodiles, buffalo and thousands of different birds. The rock art galleries of Kakadu and Arnhem Land are only a short distance away.
