Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Majestic Malacca is set by the Malacca River in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Malacca City. Housed in a 1920s mansion, this hotel transports guests to a slower pace of living in a spot which was once the commercial hub of Eastern trade.

Rooms at The Majestic Malacca

The rooms feature colonial-inspired decor such as wooden shutters, regal four-poster beds and Malaysian silk drapes, which create an air of both grandeur and intimate privacy. Timber floors are accented with oriental rugs while spacious bathrooms with standalone bathtubs provide the ideal space to unwind.

Recline near the large windows on the silk-upholstered chaise longues as the light streams in, and enjoy a cup of tea as you look out over the river or the quaint Malay village of Kampung Morten.

Food & Drink

Take a seat in the private rooms of The Mansion restaurant, surrounded by elegant furnishings and warm-hued wooden floors, for your first taste of Kristang-inspired cuisine as well as a range of Malay, Nyonya, Portuguese and Indian dishes which reflect Malacca's rich cultural history.

There's also a cosy lounge which is ideal for afternoon tea, as well as a saloon-like bar where you can stop over for a tipple of whiskey or a delicious cocktail.

Facilities

Rejuvenate your body and mind with some healing age-old therapies and treatments at the Spa Village Malacca, before unwinding on the traditional Peranakan Chinese day beds, or take a soothing swim in the pool before heading to the peaceful library and curling up with a good book.

Activities at The Majestic Malacca

One a major trading hub that linked India with China, Malacca is a rich tapestry of Chinese, Malay, Arab and Dutch influences. One of the nicest ways to explore the city is on a relaxing river cruise, and afterwards, take a stroll through Jonker Street and catch a glimpse of the centuries-old antiques.

Pass the pink-coloured Dutch colonial buildings or pop into one of the artisan cobblers' shops and observe first-hand as the craftsmen create exquisite silk shoes. Alternatively, take in the stunning panoramic views from the top of the Shore Sky Tower or enjoy some shopping at the Shore Shopping Gallery, which also houses the Shore Oceanarium.
