Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Amandari is in Kedewatan village, on the fringe of Bali’s cultural capital, Ubud. Below are steep gorges down to the sacred Ayung River, and above are the mountainous regions of the North.

Rooms at Amandari

The suites and villas at Amandari are built in the style of a traditional Balinese village, with thatched roofs, coconut timber, and bamboo frames that fill the rooms with beautifully exotic fragrance. These details, along with the wall-sized glass doors, create a tranquil dialogue with the lush natural surroundings – a quality which Aman followers will be familiar with. Inside, the polished marble floors and vaulted thatch ceilings give you the space you need to clear your head, whilst the sunken open-air baths make the perfect place to contemplate. Pool, Asmara, Ayung and Amandari suites all have outdoor living areas and a private dining sala.

Food & Drinks

As with everything else you experience at Amandari, dining is made all the more magical by the unique natural setting. Enjoy diverse Indonesian and Western flavours at the open-air Amandari restaurant, sitting splendidly over the Ayung Valley.

Facilities

Balinese cream-baths, and tranquil massages by lily ponds, are just two of the indulgent experiences at Amandari that make it synonymous with relaxation. In the walled garden there is a green-tiled infinity pool, shimmering like a jewel above the terraced gorge below. Wake up with a gentle yoga session, or for something a little more energetic, a game of tennis.

Activities at Amandari

Take a downhill cycling trail from Kitamani to Ubud, passing through rice paddies, local villages, and temples, or – for a more invigorating experience – you can go white water rafting along the Ayong River. Whilst exploring the region it’s not unusual to encounter temple ceremonies, village festivals, or a pack of nonchalant monkeys having a party of their own!
