From Victoria Falls, you’ll be taken by air transfer to Lake Kariba, a beautiful inland water wilderness home to an extraordinary array of game and bird life. Cruises and drives are both available for wildlife-watching, with fishing on the lake for the notorious tiger fish recommended for the more adventurous angler. Your lakeside residence for three nights is the Bumi Hills Safari Lodge, a luxurious hilltop lodge which enjoys stunning views over Lake Kariba and the eerily-named Starvation Island. From Lake Kariba, you’ll be flown to the final stop on your adventure up the Zambezi: the Eden that is the Mana Pools. Lining the floodplains of the Great Rift Valley, the Mana Pools is a truly stunning region, its bodies of water interrupting lush forests of mahogany, fig, ebony and baobab. Unspoilt even by Zimbabwe’s high standards, the area offers fantastic opportunities for wildlife viewing, with the country’s biggest collection of hippopotamuses and crocodiles making their home here. You’ll stay at Ruckomechi Camp, a collection of luxurious tents nestled in a grove of acacia and mahogany.
