Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Camelthorn Lodge is nestled deep in a woodland estate of camelthorn and ebony trees bordering Hwange National Park.

Rooms at Camelthorn Lodge

To combat Hwange's extreme temperatures, the secluded Forest Villas feature cosy log fireplaces and ceiling fans, with the large glass windows adding to the impression of being at one with nature.

Food & Drink

The expansive dining and living areas, featuring a bar and a teak lounge deck, are decorated in earthy hues and textured fabrics that create an atmosphere of relaxation and sophistication.

Facilities

An upstairs covered patio, which is accessed via an outside spiral staircase, provides an intimate glimpse into life in the treetops. With a pair of binoculars and a good book, it's easy to whittle away a few hours whilst enjoying the warmth of the sun and the beautiful view: at night, the patio is transformed into a romantic spot to sleep out under a canopy of stars.

Activities at Camelthorn Lodge

Explore Hwange National Park on extensive morning, afternoon and spotlit evening game drives, led by passionate and knowledgeable professional guides. Iconic African game like the lion, spotted hyena, cheetah and leopard are often seen, and an elephant waterhole has been created less than a kilometre away from the lodge, where you can sit and observe the herds coming in to drink.
