The lodge sits on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, with Zimbabwe located just the other side on the far bank.

Rooms at Thorntree River Lodge

The 12 spacious en-suite chalets are set along the riverbank and raised up on hardwood decks with private plunge pools and daybeds on the shaded veranda. With pale woods broken up with a grey accent wall, locally crafted furnishings, modern art and large glass sliding doors they have a traditional yet contemporary feel. 

Food & Drink

The food at Thorntree is outstanding, with fresh, seasonal ingredients all sourced from local farms. There are plenty of wonderful spaces for private dining should guests wish, whilst the firepit on the pontoon overlooking the river is a wonderful spot to enjoy sundowner drinks.

The lodge has a huge range of facilities including a perfectly appointed swimming pool, expansive spa, gym and library. The main lounge and bar area leads in to the restaurant and spacious deck where guests can spend their afternoons relaxing in the sunshine.
