Hotel Overview

sense of place

La Petite Ferme is set on a private wine estate along the Franschhoek Pass, and offers panoramic views.

Rooms at La Petit Ferme

There are nine elegant suites to choose from, each individually styled with neutral decor. If you want to stay in the grandness of the main manor, consider the Verandah Suite with its views overlooking the vineyards or the Library Suite for its extra length king-sized bed.

Alternatively if you’d like to be surrounded by the vineyards, pick the rustic-chic Geneva Suite or the very private Champagne Suite. The four Manor House suites have a shared pool, whilst the five vineyard suites have their own patio and private plunge pool. All of the bedrooms come with classic open fireplaces, large oval bathtubs and scenic views.

food & drink

A real feast of Cape Winelands delights, the legendary La Petite Ferme restaurant combines innovative techniques with fresh local ingredients to create indelible dishes of crumbed aubergine with herb cottage cheese and arrabbiata sauce, braised leg of rabbit with mustard apple sauce and sweet potato puree and tonka bean and brandy crème brûleé with seasonal berries and a palmier.

If you’d prefer to try a bit of everything, there is a Tapas Bistro with a fun menu inspired by different destinations all over the world – think sweetcorn fritters and boerewors kebabs for South Africa, summer pork pies with minted mushy peas for Britain and fish tacos with tomato salsa and jalapeno for Mexico. Wash it all down with a glass of award-winning wine from the estate.

Facilities

The winery has a boutique where you can buy a selection of the estate’s wines – a great souvenir to take back home.

Activities at La Petite Ferme

Join Wikus Pretorius, the winemaker at La Petit Ferme, on an educational tour of the estate’s vineyard, fermentation cellar and barrel cellar. Once you’ve done that, explore the other vineyards and wineries in the area, as you are ideally situated just two kilometres outside of Franschhoek. Leisurely jump on and off the wine tram, as you stop every hour at a different estate or nestle down in one of the fabulous restaurants to devour the tasty courses overlooking spectacular views.

Also on offer in the area are tennis, horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding and fly-fishing.
