A staggering translocation programme has transformed this vast reserve on the Botswanan border into a haven for wildlife.
For a malaria free safari, the sweeping savannah and rocky escarpment of Madikwe are home to the Big Five, as well as hyena, giraffe, cheetah, and the rare wild dog. As well as preserving the now abundant wildlife, the regeneration programme benefits the local community who are heavily involved with its implementation.
