Hotel Overview

sense of place

Leopard Hills is in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, bordering Kruger National Park.

rooms at Leopard hills

There’s a very homely feel to Leopard Hills, created by the exceptional hosts. There is just a handful of glass-fronted, air-conditioned suites, complete with indoor and outdoor showers and private plunge pools. Sun yourself during the day on your private terrace, or relax in your hammock listening to the sounds of the African bush.

Food & drink

Dining at Leopard Hills is an experience in itself – breakfast is a hearty affair, lunch can be enjoyed from the shade of an umbrella overlooking the plains below, and dinner can either be had in the more formal dining room or under the stars in the boma.

Overflowing with the finest local vintages, make sure you’ve chosen your favourite tipple from the wine cellar come sundown, for a perfect evening on the terrace.

Facilities

Though you have your own plunge pool, the main lodge also has a swimming pool, which is framed by light wood decking, where you can grab some binoculars and scan the surrounding bush for resident animals.

If you want to stretch a bit between game drives, you can sweat it out in the gym overlooking the stunning scenery or have a professional untangle the knots in your muscles at the glass-fronted spa – why not try something different with an African rungu or calabash massage?

Activities at Leopard Hills

With the Big Five (elephants, lions, rhinos, buffaloes and leopards) all present within the park, we recommend joining both the early morning and afternoon game drives and bush walks each day.

The safaris at Leopard Hills are exceptional, so make sure you tell your guide what you are particularly interested in and they’ll do everything they can to accommodate, whether you are interested in the big cats, the beautiful birdlife or want to know about the important fauna in the region. The guides are also avid photographers and often enter international and local competitions - so definitely ask them for their tips and tricks on getting the best shot.

The lodge can also arrange cultural visits to the local community and scenic helicopter flights to experience a bird’s eye view of Greater Kruger National Park.
