Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Cheetah Plains is set within tranquil, untamed surroundings in Sabi Sand, bordering Kruger and Mala Mala, where bushbuck roam, and overlooks a dam and wetland area.

Rooms at Cheetah Plains

The exclusive-use Bushveld Houses and expansive suites have a raw, authentic style and feature large bedrooms, bathrooms with double rain showers and stand-alone bath tubs, a lounge area and a private deck with day beds and a heated pool.

Like in the main building almost all the walls are made of glass: these seamless glass walls invite the outside in and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to the deck, which can be opened completely - feel completely immersed in the bush.

Food & Drink

In the main building there are living areas and a dining area. Each evening, dine al fresco by the fire on gourmet meals prepared by your chef. The lodge has a wine cellar fully stocked with South African vintages and Cap Classiques (South African sparkling wines) to accompany each meal.

Facilities

On the deck there's a pool with sunbeds – after a busy day coming face to face with wildlife, recline by the pool, or indulge in a massage at the spa or if you prefer to be active, keep fit with some exercise at the gym. In the evening, gather round the boma and fire pit. We also recommend taking a moment to appreciate the stunning night sky with some stargazing out on the deck.

Activities at Cheetah Plains

The lodge’s customised electric Land Cruisers offer a comfortable, environmentally friendly and almost silent safari experience, allowing you to concentrate on looking out for the famous Big Five. Awake early for a sunrise game drive, stopping for a scenic bush breakfast, and in the afternoon, your second game drive will finish with a sunset stop with an accompanying beverage in an idyllic location.
