Windhoek is Namibia’s small, friendly capital and almost everyone will spend a night here at the start or finish of their trip. After one of their excellent steaks, and a Namibian beer or two, many of our guests will stock up on supplies before heading off on a self-drive adventure.
En route to Etosha, you may like to stop off in the Central Highlands: relaxing at a lodge like Okonjima, with fantastic views of the ancient landscape, and plenty of hiking opportunities. Okonjima is also home to the world-famous Africat Foundation, where you can learn about Africa’s incredible big cats at close quarters.
