Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Rekero Camp’s wonderful location along the Masai Mara’s Talek River is one of the many reasons why we’re so fond of this rustic tented camp. Deep within the reserve, Rekero offers one of the best spots for watching the incredible wildebeest migration, with one of its crossing points located just in front of the camp.

Rooms at Rekero

With an abundance of exceptional game viewing at your fingertips accommodation quickly takes a back seat on the list of priorities. Despite this, Rekero’s nine luxury ensuite tents provide all you need to survive comfortably in the bush. The seven romantic tents feature a double bed, tarpaulin floors covered with African rugs, a large terrace with a daybed or sofa, and minimalist rustic décor. There are also two family tents with an extra double bedroom area. Huddled along the river’s edge, each tent has beautiful views of the surrounding scenery.

Food & Drink

The camp centres on communal dining. Pull up a chair in the mess tent and tuck into a hearty meal while discussing the day’s excitements. All food and drink is provided for you, so lay back, relax and listen to the hippos grunting in the river while enjoying a refreshing sun downer.

Facilities

When you are not out on safari, unwind in the cosy lounge area of the camp's mess tent or relax on your day bed while you take in your surroundings and watch the wildlife prowl, laze and graze nearby.

Activities at Rekero

Guides have grown up in the surrounding area, giving walking safaris and game drives an expert level of personalised knowledge that is uniquely special to Rekero. Visit one of the Il Dorobo or Maasai villages for a cultural excursion, or sample a sumptuous picnic in the heart of the wilderness. For a memorable perspective of the plains blast off into the clouds in one of the park’s hot air balloons that take flight at dawn.
