At the end of your trip, hide away on a deserted beach on Kenya’s remote coastline.

Robinson Crusoesque beach lodges are a Kenyan specialit and Kinondo Kwetu is perfect for kids. Leave the bush and take a light aircraft flight to the coast for a few days of tumbling in the Indian Ocean waves. Teach your tiddlers how to fish, or learn to kite surf. Run races along the beach, and count hundreds of fish under the water.

At the end of your stay, fly back to Nairobi. If you can, take time for dinner at the Carnivore, where crocodile meat is served on a sword, and diners wave a white flag when they’re finally defeated. Then, head on to the airport for your flight home.
