2 nightsPAMPAS

The final leg of your journey sees you heading back to the province of Buenos Aires, to the rural Pampas lowlands. You’ll spend two nights at La Bamba de Areco, a luxurious boutique hotel on a traditional estancia dating back to the 1830s. There’s no end of outdoor activities on offer here, with horses as ever at the centre of things: the estancia’s gauchos give demonstrations of horsemanship and ‘horse whispering’, and lead you on horseback rides - or if you’re feeling lazy, a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. You can also watch polo matches during the high season. The nearby town of San Antonio de Areco is a centre for gaucho culture – don’t miss the chance to meet some of them over a few yerba mates at a local pulperia.
