Hotel Overview

Where

On the banks of the Colorado River and 17 miles from Moab, in the red rock heart of Utah.

Rooms at Sorrel River Ranch

All-American mountain-lodge style comes into play in the rooms at Sorrel River Ranch, where rustic wooden floors and rocking chairs give a cosy feel, and generous windows look out over the copper-coloured mountains of Professor Valley and the La Sal range. Some rooms have their own private decks and porches from which to enjoy the views; and for families, the Ranchos Adobe residence is a three-bedroom lodge that delivers all the comforts of home, with its own kitchen and dining area as well as a private terrace.

Food and facilities

American classics made with local organic and seasonal produce are the core of the menu at River Grill, where the likes of artisan charcuterie meats and Alaskan salmon are plated up daily. The River Deck does tapas and salads in an al fresco setting overlooking the river in summer. If you’re gearing up for a day full of adventure in the Ranch’s surrounds, the kitchen will happily pack you up breakfast or lunch to fuel your outdoor activities.

Activities at Sorrel River Ranch

Nowhere does dramatic landscapes quite like Utah, with its abundance of national parks full of rusty-hued rock formations and striking canyons– within driving distance of Moab lie two of those parks, Arches and Canyonlands, offering plenty to explore either by car or on foot, and boundless photo opportunities. The Moab area itself is often christened the adventure capital of the Southwest and with the Ranch as your launching pad, you can raft the rapids of the Colorado River or go off-road in the ridges and valleys of Moab’s backcountry; alternatively hike, bike or horse-ride through the countryside at your own pace.
