Rooms at Zapata Ranch

Set in buildings dating back to the 1800s, Zapata Ranch’s rooms reflect the beauty of their natural environment. The main lodge is the original ranch homestead, and its log structure has been beautifully remodelled to incorporate five stunning rooms with an elegant southwestern decor. The log cabin bunkhouse is in a world of its own, and has incredible views of the gardens and the dunes and mountains beyond, while the Stewart House, separated from the main lodge by a footpath, offers the utmost in privacy and seclusion.

Food and facilities

The ranch offers a second-to-none dining experience, with an emphasis on fresh and local produce such as ranch-raised bison meat, lovingly presented in the welcoming atmosphere of the lodge-style dining room. There are also several food-themed workshops and weekends throughout the year.

Activities at Zapata Ranch

Zapata Ranch is the perfect place to completely immerse yourself in the great outdoors, from fly-fishing and nature hikes to birding, wildlife watching and rock climbing. As a working bison and cattle ranch, you can experience the full range of a rancher’s daily work, with horsemanship courses available. More adventurous riders can venture into the nearby Sangre de Cristo mountains, exploring the surroundings on horseback by day and camping in the remote wilderness by night.
