Location: California | USA

A sprawling resort of white-washed Spanish-style buildings with terracotta-tiled roofs sat under the mountainside in a quiet secluded area of southern California, Ojai Valley Inn is a luxury resort for the discerning traveller. Although the resort is tucked away in the Californian countryside, Ojai Valley Inn has much to offer its guests with multiple activities on offer, but with plenty of options to relax and rejuvenate too.

In the knowThe resort is large, so try and request a room closest to the facilities you will use the most and ask for a balcony with railing, not a wall – the views are not to be missed!

Rooms at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa

The 308 rooms and suites are smartly decorated in a traditional and classic style. Some have fireplaces, patios or balconies and there are lovely views across the golf course or towards the mountains. The Penthouse suites are roomier, more private options: the Spa Penthouses are found on top of Spa Ojai and have two bedrooms, fireplaces and a balcony with views across the valley, and the Hacienda Penthouse is a one-bedroom property with gorgeous valley and mountain views and styled in a Moroccan theme.

Food & Facilities

Enjoy locally-sourced Californian cuisine in a variety of dining areas, from the restaurant Maravilla to the pool-based Herb Garden Bistro. The Oak Grill is a Spanish colonial-style restaurant and Jimmy’s Pub is where you can catch all the big sports games. For a refreshing cocktail at the pool, try the Swim Club. To keep busy and active, you can take advantage of the tennis courts, golf course, four swimming pools, and when you just want to relax, the spa will be your next port of call.

Activities

Despite the isolated location of Ojai Valley Inn, there is no shortage of things to do. You can get your blood pumping with one of the fitness classes (such as Pilates, yoga or spinning); go for a nature walk around the 220 acres of grounds; play a round of golf; hire a bike and explore the area; challenge your partner to a tennis match; go horseback riding; or take off fishing. Sound a bit too energetic? Well there’s nothing to stop you spending your day flaked out by the pool with your book and a cocktail.
