Hotel Overview

Sense of place

In a quiet campsite dotted with trees and walkways, Autocamp allows you to enjoy the camping experience while being just a few minutes away from the buzz of downtown Santa Barbara.

Rooms at Autocamp Santa Barbara

Accommodation at Autocamp comes in the form of luxury aluminium Airstream trailers, a space-age icon of Americana. Each trailer comfortably sleeps four, and has locally sourced and constructed fittings and state-of-the-art kitchen facilities. There are also luxurious tiled bathrooms with showers.

Food & drink

Kitchens in the trailers are fully equipped so you can make all your meals there, and each one also has an outdoor BBQ grill with a small patio space. With a location just five minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, though, there’s no shortage of great dining options. Our tips include Yoichi’s, a traditional Japanese restaurant, and the ever-popular Mexican joint Los Agaves.

Facilities

Each of the cabins comes with two classic beach cruiser bicycles for you to explore with during your stay. Despite their retro look, the trailers are appointed with all the mod cons you could wish for including TV and Wi-Fi.

Activities at Autocamp Santa Barbara

It’s not without reason that the Santa Barbara coastline is known as the ‘American Riviera’, and a day’s exploration, perhaps of the nearby Shoreline Park, is a great way to spend a few hours. Santa Barbara is also home to several historic buildings, many of them in the Spanish Mission style. The County Courthouse, in the heart of downtown, contains murals depicting the region’s Spanish colonial history, and Mission Santa Barbara, a collection of 200-year-old religious buildings, is a beautiful example of this architectural style.

Hotel location

The camp is just five minutes from Santa Barbara’s downtown and one-and-a-half hours’ drive from LAX.
