Killarney Lodge

Nestled beside the Lake of Two Rivers.

The lodge’s collection of one and two bedroom cabins perch on the lake’s edge. Comfortable and cosy, they feature panelled wooden walls, handwoven quilts draped over the bed and decks for watching deep-red sunsets. Generally, we found that rooms at the tip of the peninsula were quieter.

A mixture of fine country dining and cooked-to-perfection comfort food is served at Killarney Lodge; listen out for the ding of the triangle, rung to announce breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Cue enormous portions of pecan pie, hearty soups and succulent meats. Also, the lodge has a bring your own wine policy in place, and serves tea, coffee, fruit and freshly baked cookies in the lounge every day.

Ask the kitchen to rustle up a picnic for you, and take to the waters for the day, or cycle and hike one of the many trails through the park. There’s plenty of wildlife to see, including loons, beavers, and moose, and children will love feeding the chipmunks with peanuts, all provided by the lodge. Retire to the lounge for card games on rainy afternoons, or just make the most of the peace and quiet on your private deck with a good read.
