Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Silversea Silver Shadow cruises around the stunning landscapes of Canada and Alaska, on various routes between Vancouver and Seward, around landmarks such as the Hubbard Glacier and the Inside Passage.

Rooms onboard Silversea Silver Shadow

The suites are sleek and spacious, with comfortable beds, sitting areas with sofas, TVs, iPod docks, and a fridge and bar fully stocked with your personal preferences. The floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the views as well as let in plenty of light. The marble bathrooms have full-sized baths as well as showers. There are shared verandas for some suites, while others have private verandas.

With the higher-category suites, extras include afternoon canapes and dinner at the officer’s table. The Owner’s Suite is the most prestigious – this stylish apartment can be configured as one or two bedrooms.

Food & Drink

There’s no stinting when it comes to food and drink either. For a leisurely morning, have breakfast in bed in your suite. In the evening, dine by candlelight at the main eatery, The Restaurant, and enjoy gourmet regional specialities and fine wines at La Dame – the only sea-bound wine restaurant by Relais & Chateaux. Wines are carefully selected from some of the world’s top wine regions to complement a delicious six-course tasting menu.

A la carte Italian cuisine is on offer at La Terrazza, where pasta is freshly made onboard daily, and ingredients such as parma ham and parmesan are sourced from Italy. Or create your own dinner at your table at The Grill, where volcanic rock is used in lava stone cooking – simply place your dish on the stone and cook it to your personal tastes. By day, The Grill becomes a build-your-own burger bar.

Facilities

Unwind with pilates and yoga in the fitness centre, or relax with a swim in the pool on deck, followed by a poolside drink. Alternatively, enjoy a massage in the spa, or have a session in the sauna. There is also a casino if you fancy trying your luck at the tables – and you can spend your winnings on a shopping spree in the onboard boutiques.

Head to the Panorama Lounge for drinks and live music, indulge in cocktails and dancing at Dolce Vita or visit Tor’s Observation Library on the top deck of the ship, where you can have a moment of peace with a good book while revelling in the scenery. Meanwhile, the Show Lounge offers lectures and presentations as well as a wide range of entertainment, from music performances to feature films.

Activities onboard Silversea Silver Shadow

During your voyage, you’ll glide around dense rainforests, glassy fjords, pristine glaciers, hidden islands and rugged mountains in the heart of the wilderness, and see bears in the forests and pods of whales and sea lions in the clear icy waters. Visit remote fishing villages, coastal towns and beaches surrounded by beautiful scenery, including several national parks. You can also discover local indigenous cultures in places like Ketchikan, and learn about local history, such as how the Gold Rush shaped towns like Skagway.
