Negev Desert

As Israel's largest desert covering more than half of the country itself, The Negev Desert is one of few places in the country to feel vast and limitless. Sweeping north for 250km from the edge of the Red Sea, its diverse landscapes range from immense rocky hills to deep valleys and colourful plains, forming an impressive sight to behold. The region's main city is Be'er Sheva, often referred to as the capital of the Negev. Here you'll find a true feel of old-world Israel, from Ottoman architecture to narrow side streets.

At the most southern tip of Isreal, where the Negev Region begins, is the resort city of Eilat. A true sun seeker's paradise, the city prides itself on 360 days of sunshine a year. Set on the Red Sea, Eilat's beaches are popular for the calm waters of the Red Sea, and the opportunity for spotting the leaping marine mammals at Dolphin Reef.
