Casa Lecanda

Casa Lecanda sits in the heart of the historic centre of Merida. Hidden behind an inconspicuous street, its facade gives away no clues as to what lies behind its doors. Its central location makes it a great spot for exploring the city’s cultural sites, while it is also a sanctuary for relaxation after a busy day of exploring the city.

There is just a handful of rooms at Casa Lecanda, all varying in size and design. With all the luxury touches you would expect, the rooms keep their character through their colonial style, the work of local artists, clay tile floors and restored fittings. Depending on your room choice, you might have a patio, a balcony or access to the stunning tropical gardens of the hotel.

The service here is really wonderful and attentive. We love the personalised dinner service that you can request in advance (otherwise Casa Lecanda only serves breakfast - which is also delicious!).

If you don't make plans to dine at the hotel, fear not, for dining options are abundant in the area with Casa Lecanda being only moments away from Paseo Montejo, where you'll find many restaurants and shops.

In between sightseeing, shopping and dining, cool off in the lovely pool or relax in a hammock on the terrace.

The city itself serves as a fantastic stopover point for those wishing to explore the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza - tours can be organised.
