Seeing as Costa Rica is made up primarily of rainforest, you can expect showers at any time of the year but generally Costa Rica is driest between December and April - although other times of the year bring unique wildlife experiences.
Green sea turtles can be seen nesting and hatching out in Tortuguero between July and October, whilst humpback whale spotting is pretty much a year-round activity.
September and October are most likely to experience rainfall, so it’s best to head to the Caribbean side at this side of the year.
