Hotel Overview

Sense of place

As the name suggests, Tree House Hideaway is a secluded collection of huts high among the trees in 21 acres of forest, on the border of the iconic Bandhavgarh National Park.

Rooms at Tree House Hideaway

Accommodation at Tree House Hideaway is spread across five uniquely constructed treetop rooms, each named for the trees which they sit on top of – Mahua, Tendu, Peepal, Banyan and Palash. The treehouses have a rustic aesthetic, with wooden floors, walls and furnishings and thatched roofs, which reflects their jungle surroundings. However, they are supremely comfortable and equipped with modern conveniences such as a mini bar, electricity, ensuite bathrooms with hot and cold running water 24 hours a day, mosquito nets and air conditioning.

The treehouses were created with sustainably produced wood by local craftsmen, honouring tradition and respecting the environment.

Food & drink

The dining hall is built around a century-old Mahua tree, where Indian, European and barbecued dishes are served up in an informal, cosy setting. The ground floor is the dining hall, and the second floor serves as a bar and lounge, the Watering Hole, where you can relax with a drink, swap stories about your wildlife sightings, and take in the view of the forest. If you’re after a more private, intimate dining experience, tables can be set up in romantic spots overlooking the trees or nearby lily ponds.

Facilities

Despite appearances, and the fact that you are literally staying high in the trees, the hotel is remarkably well equipped with modern comforts and amenities, including its own machan, a raised hide used to spot wildlife.

Activities at Tree House Hideaway

Bandhavgarh National Park has one of the highest densities of Bengal tigers anywhere in the world, and offers unrivalled opportunities to spot these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Game drives leave from the hotel in the morning and evening in a 4x4, led by expert guides whose knowledge and expertise will give you the best possible opportunities of seeing the tigers.

Other wildlife who live in the park alongside the tigers include elephants, spotted deer, leopards, wild boar, Indian gaur and jackals. Cultural excursions are also on offer to Bandhavgarh Fort, which sits at the highest point of the park, and to local villages, where you can enjoy a workshop with bamboo weavers.
