Infante Sagres

Infante Sagres enjoys a pretty spectacular setting, in the rarefied surrounds of Porto’s UNESCO-listed historic centre. Must-see sights within walking distance of the hotel include the blue-tiled Igreja do Carmo and the Monument to Don Pedro IV.

The lavish rooms and suites at Infante Sagres have a classically luxurious design, with stucco-moulded walls and ceilings, plush textiles and rugs on parquet wooden floors, and beautiful antique furniture. The food is a collection of gourmet takes on modern European cuisine, with a particular emphasis on healthy Mediterranean dishes – expect grilled fish and meat alongside a range of salads, all made using fresh organic ingredients.

A plunge pool can be found on the hotel’s second floor - perfect for refreshing and cooling off after a day of pounding the streets of Porto. If you’re after more extensive spa facilities, guests at Infante Sagres have access to those at its sister hotel The Yeatman: these include immersive barrel baths, facials and body treatments.

The hotel’s location, right in the heart of Porto, makes it perfect for exploring the city’s historic and cultural attractions. Just down the road you’ll find the Lello bookshop, one of the most beautiful of its kind in the world, where you can marvel at floor-to-ceiling bookshelves containing all manner of volumes beneath a beautiful stained-glass roof. Also not to be missed is the Church of Sao Francisco, an ornately gilded Baroque church covered in gold leaf to the tune of 100kg.
