Hotel Overview

Where

With a divine location within Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples, the Hotel Villa Athena is surrounded by the park’s Saracen olive trees and ancient palms, and the fabulous Temple of Concordia is just 200 metres away, dating back to the 5th century BC.

Rooms at Hotel Villa Athena

The villa’s noble history is evident in each of the Hotel Villa Athena’s beautifully-appointed rooms. All feature sleek décor with white drapes, marble bathrooms and crisp white linen, overlooking the ruins or pretty palm and olive trees. We recommend choosing a Deluxe Room for the best views of the Temple of Concordia from a private terrace; admire the panoramic sky as the ruins light up at night for a magical and unforgettable experience.

Food and Facilities

Guests are treated to mesmerising views of the Temple of Concordia whilst dining at the hotel’s two exquisite restaurants, Terrazza degil Dei and Il Granaio di Ibla. Choose from a variety of fine Sicilian fare including fresh seafood and Italian salads, or sample the heavenly creations of a gourmet tasting menu. Pair the breathtaking surroundings with excellent wine recommendations from the sommelier, and be sure to head to the Patio Lounge after dinner to relax with a cocktail in a stylish setting of bookcases and coral jewels.

Activities at Hotel Villa Athena

The ancient Valley of the Temples is the island’s most popular tourist site, and guests are blessed with being located just a few minutes’ walk away. The Temple of Concordia is an excellent example of Doric art dating from the 5th century, wrapped in a turbulent history of changing powers from Greek to Roman rule, before its residents abandoned the site for the safety of higher ground in the 7th century – now the resting place of modern-day Agrigento. The medieval city centre is great for exploring; head to the Via Atenea for excellent trattorias and boutique shopping.
