BB22 Palace

Location: Sicily & Aeolian Islands | Italy

In this pulsating city of faded grandeur lies the coolly elegant BB22 Palace, balancing contemporary style with 15th century charm. Owner Patrizia Marchetti painstakingly restored the palazzo over the course of three years, providing Palermo with a stylish boutique bolt-hole that feels intimate and exclusive.
Perfect forCouples who want to retreat to a chic yet friendly hotel in Palermo.
In the knowYou can self-cater if you book all four of the Moncada Palace’s rooms, giving you full access to the kitchen. Shop for local produce at Palermo’s Vucciria market, or ask us to arrange a chef to do the work for you.

Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Close to the action of Palermo yet tucked away on a tranquil corner of the city, rubbing shoulders with the San Domenico Church. The two townhouses that make up BB22 Palace are set on either side of Via Roma, a stone’s throw from the harbour.

Rooms at BB22 Palace

No more than seven guestrooms in the original palazzo, and four in the Moncada townhouse across the road, make up BB22 Palace, each uniquely designed with creative furnishings and décor. The whole thing feels very sleek yet manages to make you feel right at home, thanks to muted colour palettes enriched by quirky features like the Philippe Starck chairs and Ingo Maurer bauble lighting. Tall French windows open out onto little terraces, commanding views across the rooftops.

Food and facilities

Start the day with a delicious continental breakfast at BB22 Palace, be that in the breakfast room or up on the rooftop terrace looking out over the city. If you’re lucky there’ll be some cannoli freshly prepared, and throughout the day you can make yourself a cup of tea or coffee; in the evening, guests get together in the lounge for a glass of Sicilian wine and nibbles.

Activities at BB22 Palace

Explore Palermo on foot, taking in its crumbling architecture, tangle of alleyways and Baroque churches; don’t miss the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel. Or, give your legs a break and have a horse-drawn carriage take you around instead.
