Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Borgo Santo Pietro sits in beautiful gardens surrounded by an organic-certified 300-acre estate, a 35-minute drive from Siena and just over one hour from Florence. Tuscany's coast is only 30 minutes’ drive away.

Rooms at Borgo Santo Pietro

Each room and suite at Borgo Santo Pietro is unique in character, furnished with exquisite antiques, paintings and hand-painted frescoes in the rich, warm colours of the Tuscan landscape. Gleaming glass chandeliers hang from the ceiling, whilst inviting open fires roar next to the magnificent beds. The windows are adorned with silk curtains, and offer sensational views across the Tuscan hillside.

Some suites look out over the gardens or have their own private outdoor space and some also have a private pool. For the ultimate experience, treat yourself to the
Santo Pietro Grand Suite, which takes up the entire south wing of the main building. For those wanting more privacy, we suggest one of the garden suites. Or stay at the lavish La Casa dei Fiori Bianchi Pool House, which has its own spacious terrace and large saltwater pool with a Jacuzzi and cascade.

Food & Drink

The farm-to-plate philosophy is fully endorsed here. The orchard and organic fruit and vegetable gardens and the cheese dairy provide much of the fresh produce for the villa’s Michelin-starred Meo Modo restaurant, where expert chefs serve up innovative, seasonal and exquisite cuisine, alongside handpicked wines from selected boutique labels.

Savour gourmet offerings at the Trattoria sull'Albero restaurant, where you can linger over wood-fired pizzas and irresistible cocktails, and there are plenty of secluded and romantic al fresco spots around the gardens which are ideal for delicious meals and drinks, accompanied by pretty countryside views. Enjoy a meal at the al fresco pop-up Orto restaurant.

Take a slice of Tuscany home with you by indulging in a cooking class with expert chefs, and discover how herbs are made into oils in the Herb House: learn about their natural healing properties and see how they are transformed into the skincare range at the Seed to Skin lab.

Borgo Santo Pietro has impressive eco-friendly credentials: it has eliminated single-use plastic and has its own purified water supply.

Facilities

The inviting swimming pool, with its panoramic views, and the blissful spa, set in 13 acres of enchanting private gardens, are perfect places to relax and unwind.

The spa blends freshly-picked herbs from the gardens into its holistic treatments, alongside natural skincare products from the in-house laboratory.

Activities at Borgo Santo Pietro

Borgo Santo Pietro's 200-acre estate encompasses a working farm, including hundreds of sheep and an artisan cheese-making dairy. Seasonal activities include mushroom picking, or take an art class with the resident artist.

The sprawling private gardens provide peace, seclusion and serenity, and you can enjoy walking and cycling trails amidst the panoramic vistas of Valle Serena - take the trails through the forest to San Galgano or along the River Merse, which is also a good spot for a refreshing dip in the cool, clear waters, followed by a riverside picnic. Private cabana lounges offer the opportunity for forest bathing, Borgo Santo Pietro style.

It's hard to drag yourself away from this oasis, but if you can, it's just a five-minute stroll to the small village of Palazzetto, where you can challenge the locals to a bocce match. In summer, the neighbouring Abbey of San Galgano hosts popular open-air concerts.

Horse lovers can go horse riding - there are stables are just 20 minutes away, in the heart of the countryside. You can also set sail on a tailor-made trip around the Mediterranean on the hotel's own luxury yacht, the Satori.
