Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Lindis is on the Ben Avon Station, which occupies 6,000 acres of the Ahuriri Valley, which itself spans nearly 50,000 hectares. It is surrounded by the valley's snow-capped peaks, tussock lands, beech forests and wetlands, and much of the area is a conservation park. The lodge has an eye-catching modern design, including natural materials such as rock and timber, and waved roofs to mimic the curves of the land.

Rooms at The Lindis

The luxurious suites are the epitome of luxury, style and comfort. They are sleek and spacious, with plump king-sized beds, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, cosy fireplaces, natural wood floors and walls, plush bathrooms, and gorgeous, uninterrupted views over the Ahuriri Valley.

The Lindis also has luxury pods, offering a truly memorable accommodation option. A stone's throw from the main lodge, these futuristic eco-pods have double-glazed mirrored glass walls on three sides as well as outdoor sitting areas and bathtubs to make the most of the views, while still being private and secluded.

Food & Drink

The delicious daily menus feature the very best of local, seasonal produce, including ingredients grown in the hotel's own gardens. In the stunning setting of the aptly-named grand hall, sample locally-foraged porcini mushrooms, kumara (sweet potato) gnocchi, fresh fish such as South Island crayfish and Aoraki alpine salmon, and local cheeses with handmade chutneys. The colourful, expertly-prepared dishes are paired with world-class New Zealand wines from the impressive wine cellar.

Facilities

Find your perfect spot to sit and take in the panoramic vistas with a glass of wine, or relax in the hot tub.

Activities at The Lindis

Discover some of New Zealand's most postcard-perfect scenery with activities from scenic hikes, bike rides and horse rides (The Lindis has its own stables) to some of the world's best fly fishing on the Ahuriri River. Adrenaline-fuelled adventures include exhilarating buggy tours that take you to places that can't be reached on foot or by 4x4, or take to the skies from the hotel's private airstrip to witness the valley from above, and venture further afield to Mount Cook or Milford Sound.

On your return from a day's adventures in the evening, do some stargazing in the vast, starry skies.
