Fusion Resort Phu Quoc overlooks Vung Bau Bay and is a mere five-minute walk from one of the island’s best beaches. Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam, and sits in the Gulf of Thailand off the southern coast, and offers postcard-perfect white-sand beaches and lush tropical forests.

The one and two-bedroom thatched villas each have seamless indoor and outdoor spaces, with a private outdoor pool, a terrace and a secluded garden, plus either riverfront or beach and ocean views. They feature light, spacious interiors with an attractive neutral colour scheme and glass-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the views, alongside king-sized beds and bathrooms with monsoon showers and sunken bathtubs.

Have a leisurely start to the day and enjoy breakfast anytime, anywhere you like – such as by the pool, on the beach – or if getting up at all is too much effort, have breakfast in bed. Try gourmet Vietnamese specialities in the Secret Garden restaurant, tucked away in a tropical garden setting, while Pezca makes the most of the island’s irresistible fresh seafood – feast on locally-caught fish, paired with beautiful ocean views.

In the evening, sip cocktails at the Beach Bar, whose design resembles an upturned traditional fishing boat.
