Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Sukhothai Heritage is located around 20 kilometres from the city of Sukhothai, lending it a peaceful atmosphere while remaining a fantastic base for exploring the ruins of Sukhothai Historical Park and other cultural attractions in the area.

Rooms at Sukhothai Heritage

Rooms and suites are elegant and contemporary in their design, with nods to their historical surroundings such as artwork depicting ancient Buddhist stupas. Jacuzzi Suite Rooms feature Jacuzzi baths and their own private terrace or balcony – the perfect place to unwind after a day’s seeing the sights – while the opulent Royal Suite Room offers 100m² of exclusive luxury.

Food and drink

Sukhothai Heritage pays tribute to Thailand’s internationally acclaimed food traditions at the Lotus Restaurant, and Sukhothai noodles – a local speciality of noodles with green beans, pork, garlic and chilli – are a must-try. For a traditional dining environment, try Sala Sukhothai, a traditional Thai-style open-air pavilion. International dishes feature alongside Thai cuisine at both restaurants. After dinner or a long day’s sightseeing, enjoy a thirst-quenching cocktail at the Vanda Bar – a great place to meet your fellow guests and swap stories of your adventures.

Facilities

The hotel’s unique location makes it ideally placed for exploring the world-famous historical sites of Sukhothai, and staff will happily help you to arrange excursions. After you’ve seen the sights, you can unwind at one of the hotel’s two swimming pools, or head to the library, a cosy spot where you can brush up on local history with a selection of books and newspapers. A massage service is available on request, and the hotel also has a boutique where you can pick up a souvenir of your stay.

Activities at Sukhothai Heritage

Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, documents the rich history of this region, which was the seat of the first independent kingdom of Thailand. The park contains the ruins of 26 temples in varying states of decay, scattered with Buddha statues and other sculptures. Excursions are available from the hotel taking in the area’s other historic sites, such as the atmospheric ruins of Kamphaeng Phet, as well as cultural visits to local weaving villages and terracotta workshops. You can also enjoy learning the secrets of world-famous Thai cuisine with cookery classes, or take part in a centuries-old pillar of life in Thailand (and accumulate some good karma to boot) by donating alms to Buddhist monks on their daily morning rounds.
