Yangshuo, China

3 nightsYangshuo

Yangshuo is simply beautiful and irresistibly romantic: its quintessential landscapes have been immortalised over the centuries in classic poems and paintings – and you can even see it on the 20 Yuan note. You will make part of your journey here by boat on the Li River, winding between the jagged mountains and passing by villages and farmers working in the fields. Head out on a hiking or biking trip around the Li Valley’s limestone peaks, villages, lush green paddy fields, temples and caves, where you will be struck by the stunning scenery.

The Banyan Tree Yangshuo is a luxurious haven, nestled amongst the mountains, rivers and lakes. Take a trip on the hotel’s traditional bamboo raft as fishermen cast their nets, enjoy a swim in a glassy pool overlooking the river, or unwind with a couples’ spa treatment. There are also some memorable meals to be had here – enjoy a private lunch for two while drifting leisurely along the river or dine on a clifftop while enjoying the views.
